Hyderabad: Woman, kin held for murdering husband
Deceased harassed family for money to buy alcohol.
Hyderabad: In yet another incident of wife killing the husband, the Kachiguda police arrested a woman, her brother and two brothers-in-law for plotting and bludgeoning the husband on the railway tracks to make it look like a suicide.
Later, a missing case was filed at the police station by the wife. However, the body was identified and the wife was called for interrogation where she confessed to have killed him with the help of relatives as he was harassing her and the kids for money to buy alcohol.
The woman, identified as Devapally Jamuna, 30, of Karnataka, was married to Devapally Srinivas alias Yellaiah and was working as a maid in Methar Basthi of Kachiguda.
Her brother, Dattha Shanker Telang, 23, and her brothers-in-law Raju Babu Rao Telang, 43, and Rajender Kishan Telang, 31, helped her in murdering Yellaiah last year.
A missing case was registered at the Kachiguda police station by Jamuna on August 1, 2017. A case was registered and investigation began.
“While the case was still under investigation, his body was found on the railway track near Nimboliadda Bridge by the railway police. He was arrested earlier in a theft case by Malakpet and Rajend-ranagar police.
Accordingly, the Secti-ons were altered from missing to murder case and an investigation was taken up on August 14, 2017,” said Kachi-guda police inspector K. Satyanarayana.
It was revealed that Jamuna had married one Kishan 16 years ago and after three years she came to Hyderabad in search of employment and started working as a labourer. After three years, she came into contact with Yellaiah, left her husband and moved in with him. After a few days, Yellaiah left his work and started harassing her for money to consume liquor.
On Tuesday, based on information, Kachiguda police took Jamuna and others into police custody and, following their confession, arrested them and send them in judicial remand.

Odd plans hatched to get rid of hubbies
Cases of wives killing their husbands are on the rise in Telangana and on Sunday Guntur police arrested a woman Srividya for murdering her husband Narendra.
Police suspect the murder was to continue her illicit relationship with her sister’s husband at Narasaraopeta.
Srividya and her partner Veeraiah plotted to kill Narendra with the help of two persons G. Balaraju and P. Chowdaiah.
The duo took Narendra to an isolated place and offered him alcohol mixed with cyanide. Balaraju was said to have thrown the body on the bank of a canal, according to Narasaraopeta DSP K. Nageswara Rao.
A day before that, Choutuppal police arrested five persons, including the wife of the deceased who reportedly hatched the plan to eliminate her husband with the help of her paramour.
During the probe, the brother of the deceased said he suspected his sister-in-law Jyothi, 22. When interrogated, she confessed to killing her husband with the help of her paramour Mahankali Karthik, 22, and three of his friends, inspector S. Naveen Kumar said.
In another incident in December, Swathi, a married woman from Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, inspired by the Telugu film ‘Yevadu’ killed her husband. Her paramour burned his face inorder to impersonate her husband.
