Hyderabad: Students’ angst with the CBSE board continues as they now take to social media to express their concern about the delay by the board to issue the date-sheet or timetable for the 10th and 12th Board examinations scheduled for March. While a few students have tweeted about the frequent postponing of dates, a few have shared their apprehensions about the possible lack of time for the final preparation.

Shraddha Nair, a 12th standard student says, “It is not just the board exams but also JEE preparations that are getting affected. Many students are tensed about the dates and the gap that we will get between each exam. Once the schedule is released, we can time each subject’s preparation well.” Meanwhile, schools in the city are waiting for an official release from the board. Minu Khan, director of Glendale group of schools says, “The date-sheet was supposed to be released on the January 5 first and was then postponed to the January 6. It is usually out by now which is why the students are tensed about the change from the expected schedule i.e. the exams will begin after Holi on March 5. Students will be able to prepare better with no stress and the teachers will also be able to plan revision classes better.”

Parents across the city have also shared their apprehensions about the lack of contact between schools and the board this year. School authorities say that the board exams for 2018 have been difficult to manage as there was a lot of talk about the exams being brought forward to February. A lot of parents were confused about the board exams for 10th standard that were restarting after a gap of 10 years.

Lalitha Singh, a parent says, “After the academic year began, the talk of restarting the boards began. We had to keep contacting the school to ascertain the truth. However the schools did not receive any timely instructions from the board. There needs to be more communication between the two. They have to answer a lot of worried parents. This year it has been a seesaw for students with rumours and assumptions regarding the exams.” Ms Singh further stated that the Telangana board of Education had promptly released their Inter exam timetable by November.
