It is immature to decline security: AP Home minister
Meanwhile, Nandyal MLA Mr. Bhuma Bramhanada Reddy also said that he did not want the security provided to him and sent them back.
Kurnool: Tourism minister Ms Bhuma Akhila Priya who skipped Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Kurnool on Tuesday continues to keep off the security provided by the State Government. The minister was absent from the CM’s programmes in the district as she had to observe the 55th birth anniversary of her father who had died of a cardiac arrest in 2017.
The home minister Mr Nimmakayala China Rajappa while participating in the inauguration of the modern Taluka police station at Kurnool said that Ms Akhila Priya should not have stuck to her ground on the alleged police excesses in her Allagadda constituency. He said, “If she had any issues with the security, she should have brought it to the notice of the party high command.” He further said the tourism minister was new to politics and she had to understand the government mechanism and act accordingly.
Allgadda market yard chairman B.V. Rami Reddy, a close confidante of tourism minister, said, “We are not against the police providing security. The minister was only objecting to the manner in which the police conducted searches on people against whom no cases were pending and leading a normal life just because they were supporters of Bhuma family.”
It was not correct to subject them to searches." He further said, "District police is extending cooperation and we welcome it .What was objectionable was the behaviour of a few policemen who created unnecessary problems for followers of the Bhuma family."
Meanwhile, Nandyal MLA Mr. Bhuma Bramhanada Reddy also said that he did not want the security provided to him and sent them back. A leader said that with the induction of Mr. N.M.D Farooq into the cabinet of ministers, the importance of the Bhuma family was perceived lowered as they could not have unbridled control over the administration in Nandyal area. The sulking of the Minister was largely due to the Farooq factor, he reasoned.
