Bengaluru: Observing that 5-guarantees of the Congress party such as free travel for women, and up to 200 units of free power among others have not been told to the residents in an effective way in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said to constitute committees at the State, District, and Assembly levels to take to the people the 5-guarantees in an effective manner and also to take on false propaganda about the 5-guarantees of the opposition parties.

Calling upon the party workers to prepare for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls on a war footing in Karnataka, the Chief Minister said the Implementation Committees will have only the party workers and none of the MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and Rajya Sabha members will be accommodated in it.

The Chief Minister announced that the members of the Implementation Committee will get remuneration of Rs 50,000 which will be given from the State Exchequer and the formation of the Committees will happen soon.

The remuneration will cost around Rs 16 crore a year and stated that “It is not a burden considering that the State Government is spending about 59,000 crores a year in the implementation of 5-guarantees,” he said.

Addressing the State Executive Committee meeting in Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the head of the State Level Implementation Committee will be given the rank of a cabinet minister and he will be assisted by 5 Vice-Presidents will enjoy State minister rank status along with 31 members each representing a district of the State.

At the District level, he said the Implementation Committee will have a President and a Vice-President and 21-members while in each Assembly segment, an 11-member Committee headed by a President will be entrusted with the task of Guarantee Implementation.

Siddaramaiah said that the appointment of Chairman to various Boards and Corporations is in the offing and the appointments will stay for a period of two years before it will be changed by another set of party workers/leaders.
