Arunachal Pradesh is India's pride, says PM Modi
PM Modi said that dream of new India could be accomplished only when northeast develops.
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh is the gateway of India’s security and his government is committed not only to ensure its safety and security but also to put in on a fast-track to development.
Addressing his first public meeting at Itanagar, Mr Modi said, “Arunachal Pradesh is India’s pride…it is India’s gateway, and I assure you all that we will not just ensure its safety and security, but also put in on a fast-track to development.”
Regretting that previous government ignored the strategic importance of the frontier states, Mr Modi said that dream of new India could be accomplished only when northeast develops.
Referring his tweet asking tourists to share their experiences on social media while visiting Northeast, Mr Modi said that response was overwhelming and informative as well.
“Tourism sector has a huge potential in a state like Arunachal Pradesh. With its beauty it can mesmerize people who visit here. There is potential for new emplo-yment avenues for the state’s youths,” he said.
