Hyderabad: Corporators demand Rs 2 crore development fund

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation corporators on Saturday demanded ward development fund of Rs 2 crore. Gudimalkapur corporator Bangari Prakash raised the issue and later the demand was raised by all corporators in the council hall.

Reacting to the demand city mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that the issue has been taken to the notice of Municipal Administration and Urban Development principal secretary Arvind Kumar and would be resolved at the earliest.

AIMIM corporators including  Pathergatti corporator Syed Sohail Quadri said that the corporation had halted the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project (CPP) for a year, as result about livelihood of several hawkers have eked out. He said that though the property owners were ready give their buildings for acquisition, the GHMC officials were not acquiring them.
