Kolkata: A team of Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Said Manirul Islam, an alleged active member of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a banned terror organisation, from Kolkata’s Sealdah Station.

Manirul Islam (42) was nabbed on Friday from APC Road, near Kaizar Street, Sealdah Station.

He is also accused of having connections with Islamic scholars like Maulana Yousuf, Ibrahim, Talha, Ezaz, and others.

Police said Kaizar is also accused of frequently visiting Mokimnagar Madarsa and recruiting and sending locals from his locality and other adjacent areas to the Madarsa for training.

In another development, a joint operation by the West Bengal Police Special Task Force and the Kerala Police led to the arrest of terror suspect Abdul Matin from Kerala's Malappuram early this week.
