Ooty: The row over erecting mobile phone tower upon an alleged unauthorized building in Ooty that emanated in February last week continues as the greens suspect connivance of officials to allow such erections in order to save the unauthorized constructions from demolition citing mobile towers in the roof.

The stiff resistance put up by the residents at Vivekananda Nagar here against erection of a mobile phone tower upon an alleged unauthorized building finally landed in police station on March 1 and the cops asked the private telecom company to follow the norms.

At this juncture, the staff from a private telecom company, seemingly in defiance mood, visited the Vivekananda Nagar on Monday evening and began to behave a in a rude manner with the residents there that saw cops intervening again.
