Vijayawada to get metro look soon

Vijayawada: Chances are very bright for small towns, municipalities, major and nagara panchayats around Vijayawada and Amaravati capital location to be developed in various aspects on par with the capital city construction and expanding transport connectivity. If the state government plans work out successfully, not only Amaravati capital city but surrounding towns like Manga-lagiri, Tadepalli, Kanchi-kacherla and major panchayts like Gannavaram, Kankipadu, Ibrahimpatnam, Kunchanapalli and Kondaplli will also play a crucial role in future developments.

Already the state government prepared plans to develop the towns around Vijayawada city by implementing beautification and road expansion works before the forthcoming Krishna Pushkaralu. According to plans, the state government has decided to release special funds for taking up various developmental works in the municipalities and towns.The local authorities were instructed by thehigher authorities to prepae development plans. Mangalagiri and Tadepalli municipalities in Guntur district, which are adjacent to Amaravati capital location, have submitted plans and works are also on track.

Especially, the towns around Vijayawada are the entry points to Amaravati capital location from various directions. The visible outlook of towns is very important when several international delegates visit the capital location by passing through the towns and villages regularly.  Moreover, the employees who shift from Hyderabad may select these villages and towns for their residential purpose in near future. The provision of basic amenities is also very important at the present juncture.

The government intends to take up various development works based on increasing significance of the areas. An official said that the municipalities near Amaravati would witness immediate changes, including construction activity like apartments and houses. Corporator and senior TeluguDesam leader Jasti Sambasiva Rao said that the VMC passed a resolution to merge the villages around Vijayawada city by making it a metropolitan city. The city development would be expanded and funds also would be allotted for these villages. The metro rail project would also cover the surrounding villages of the city in Krishna district, he added.
