Poll Bytes: Hebbal Cong ticket aspirant Byrathi Suresh quits Council

Bengaluru: Expecting a ticket to contest from Hebbal Assembly constituency, Congress MLC Byrathi Suresh resigned from the Legislative Council on Monday. His six-year tenure was supposed to end in the second week of June this year.
Mr Suresh met Legislative Council chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy and handed over his resignation letter. The chairman announced that Mr Suresh's resignation has been accepted.
The Hebbal Assembly constituency is presently represented by Y Narayanaswamy of BJP. Already, former Union minister and veteran Congress leader, Mr C.K. Jaffer Sharief is trying to get the ticket for his grandson, Mr Rahman Sharief who had lost a byelection held in the constituency two years ago. Mr Suresh is leaving no stone unturned to get the ticket using the influence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
