Warangal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved himself unfit to continue for a second term and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who is aspiring to be the Prime Minister is ineligible for the post, said former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.

Addressing newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that both Modi and KCR has failed to fulfill their promises in the past five years and the people do not trust them anymore. “KCR’s statement on supporting Special Status to Andhra Pradesh state, just days before polling, proves his opportunistic politics. He is once again trying to hoodwink the people,” he said.

Mr Lakshmaiah pointed out that KCR opposed GST and demonetisation initially but later started praising them, after meeting PM Modi and getting assurance from him that all his black money would be converted to white.

“During the Congress party’s rule, when it was proposed that GST will be implemented at 18 per cent, the BJP opposed it and demanded it to be implemented at 14 per cent. Today, they are implementing GST at 28 per cent. CM KCR is supporting the BJP so that he can remain in power and impose a feudal rule on the state. KCR’s days are numbered. He has failed to provide double bedroom houses in his own native village. He himself has said that he does not have anything to do with the people. If he is voted out of power, he would go and sleep in his farmhouse. How can such a person aspire to be a Prime Minister and bring reforms in the country?” he asked.

“The BJP is saying that the Congress is a family party but none from the Nehru family had taken prominent posts since the death of Rajiv Gandhi,” he added.
