Hyderabad: After Monday’s failed attempt, the GHMC will try to implode an illegal building at Guttala Beg-umpet for a second time on Wednesday. This time explosives will be placed on all the four remaining floors to bring the structure down.

Some brick walls were manually demolished on Tuesday.

Assistant city planner Mahipal Reddy said a team inspected the building and found it to be  stable. “Loose bricks were removed. They were preventing access to beams and some columns were removed,” he said.

A few holes were drilled into the columns and upper floors as a test measure. Holes will be drilled into structures on the remaining floors, filled with explosives and the building imploded.
