Hyderabad: MP from Karimnagar, B. Vinod Kumar, has written a letters to the minister of state – department of telecommunication to update the caller ID software and related databases with the telecom service providers including BSNL.

The MP, in his letter, mentioned that the Telangana state will celebrate its third anniversary on this year on June 2 and  it is very disappointing to note that landline numbers from BSNL and other networks continue to reflect domain name of the erstwhile undivided state of Andhra Pradesh when calls are made. This situation needs to be rectified. as its very embarassing and can lead to spread of misinformation and cause confusion.

The MP also urged the chairman and managing director of BSNL, Anupam Srivastava, to intervene and ensure that BSNL updates its records and directories and it feeds updated information into the systems so that it reflects the name of Telangana whenever calls from the state network are made.
