Cops to file chargesheet in Indiramma scam
The CID officials during its probe found that irregularities were reported in 3,000 houses in 36 villages in the state.
Hyderabad: The crime investigation department will be filing the chargesheet in the infamous Indiramma scam that reportedly took place between 2004 and 2014 in the united Andhra Pradesh.
The probe was ordered by the state government in 2014 after large scale irregularities in the Indiramma Housing Scheme surfaced between 2004 and 2014.
The CID officials during its probe found that irregularities were reported in 3,000 houses in 36 villages in the state. The CID officials found that the contractors were paid bills for incomplete houses including a few cases where only basements were constructed but bills were paid for full work of the house.
The probe was initially taken up by the vigilance and enforcement department and later transferred to the crime department.
State government had initiated action against several of its employees for their role in the scam. However, the government failed to recover the money from them.
