Bengaluru: Rubbishing the allegations that his daughter was caught distributing money to voters in the Rajajinagar constituency and was arrested by the police, BJP MLA Suresh Kumar on Wednesday clarified that there is no connection between her and the money seized at the BJP Yuva Morcha office in Rajajinagar.
On Tuesday afternoon, the police along with Congress workers raided the Yuva Morcha office in Rajajinagar and seized unaccounted cash of Rs 1.90 lakh.
Disha said that she and a few people working with the social media who had come from New Delhi were discussing about a project at the Yuva Morcha office when a few Congressmen barged in and started checking the office. They alleged that she was carrying large sums of money, checked her bag and left after they did not finding anything. But after sometime, they returned along with the police and started taking a video, alleging that she was distributing money to voters. "But they did not find any money with me," she said.
Meanwhile, Congress workers caught a man with Rs 1.90 lakh in the same building, and soon news spread that Disha was caught by the police, Mr Kumar said.
Mr Kumar, who spoke to the media, alleged that Congress workers were trying to frame his daughter and ruin his name.
Disha also clarified to the media that she did not know the person who was caught with the money at the building and she had no connection with him or the money.
The Rajajinagar police have seized the money and are investigating the case.
