Parliamentary committee reports can be evidence
A five-judge Constitution Bench headed hy Chief Justice Dipak Misra gave this ruling in a PIL filed by social activist Kalpana Mehta.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday held that the parliamentary standing committee (PSC) report on an issue of public importance can be relied on for evidence for adjudication of a fact in a court of law but it cannot be challenged as invalid or illegal.
A five-judge Constitution Bench headed hy Chief Justice Dipak Misra gave this ruling in a PIL filed by social activist Kalpana Mehta and others who relied on a report as evidence in a petiton challenging the licensing for use of two unproven and hazardous HPV vaccines to purpoted to prevent cervical cancer.
