NITC registers best placement figures

Kozhikode: The NITC has recorded the best placement figures this season with 609 students getting job offers with an average salary of Rs 10 lakh per year. This comes after the NITC recorded an impressive show in NIRF ranking by advancing to 28th position from 49th last year.

In the concluding phase of 2018-19 drive, a total of 130 companies visited the campus and the top recruiters include L&T (46), Oracle (26), Target (21), Amdocs (20) and MRF (19).

The highest offer this year is Rs 50 lakh per annum given by a company named Artifact, which visited the NITC for the first time. Students also received offers from well-known firms like Amazon, Microsoft, Multiplex, Cisco, General Electric, Intel, Adobe, Morgan Stanley, Maruti Suzuki, Goldman Sachs, J P Morgan, Nutanix, AppDynamics and  Sobha developers. The NITC continues to be at the top in placements with 120 of its 121 students getting placed with an average salary of Rs 15 lakh (last year average was Rs 12.5 lakh), it said in a statement.

The B.Tech Electronics & Communication branch of NITC remains a favourite choice for recruiters with 92 of the 98 registered students getting placed with an average salary of Rs 9.16 lakh. Placement percentage of core B.Tech branches: Electrical & Electronics (85 percent) Mechanical (80 percent) and Civil (80percent). There were takers for specialised branches, including Biotechnology (8 offers), Chemical (36 offers) etc. Overall percentage of placement for B.Tech programmes is 87 percent with an average salary of Rs 10 lakh per annum. M.Tech programmes also had very good placements this year, The overall percentage became 57 (151 out of 264). The highest offer for M.Tech is Rs 31.5 lakh by Goldman-Sachs to a M.Tech Computer Science student. MBA students (73 percent) and MCA (70 percent) also received good placements.Current third year B.Tech students (2020 batch) also received internships with offers reaching 110. These students will be receiving a stipend in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh/month for the two-month-long internship in these companies. About 50 M.Tech students also received industry internships with attractive stipend for their final year thesis work. Most of these internships are expected to be converted to fulltime offers with attractive salary packages.
