Arya\'s story came into the limelight after her neighbour shared it on social media which went viral.
Kozhikode: Ministers, dignitaries and the benevolent of the city made a beeline on Thursday to the rented house of Arya Raj, a resident of Malaparamba here, who bagged full A plus in the SSLC exam despite spending hours tending her bedridden comatose father for the past four months following an accident.
Arya's story came into the limelight after her neighbour shared it on social media which went viral.
When regular medical issues disturbed her studies, physicians advised her to read the portions loud sitting by his bedside which they believed would help not only her in studies but also them in the treatment.
Excise minister T.P. Ramakrishnan, transport minister A.K. Saseendran and mayor Thottathil Raveendran were among her visitors.
Mr Ramakrishnan also communicated with the principal of Medical College Hospital Kozhikode on further treatment. The principal sent a team of doctors who suggested new medicines monitoring.
Dr P.A. Lalitha, managing director, Malabar Hospital, reached out her first and offered to sponsor her future education.
She also added that Arya could work in the hospital if she has an interest in pursuing the medical field in the future.
As a part of the scheme, Rs 5,000 will be transferred to Arya's bank account every month.
'Save Green' and 'Seva Bharathi' offered Rs 5000 as a monthly pension for the father.
The Providence School, Kozhikode, where Arya completed her earlier studies guaranteed a seat for her higher secondary education.
