Hyderabad: Telangana BJP vice president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Wednesday accused the Chandrashekar Rao-run state government of misusing taxes by appointing retired IAS and IPS officers as advisors, terming it “unproductive” measures.

Prabhakar particularly expressed displeasure over the appointment of former chief secretary Somesh Kumar as the chief advisor to the Chief Minister, questioning the need for the same.

Addressing a press conference at the state party office here on Wednesday, Prabhakar said, “It is a sheer waste of public money as BRS government is appointing as advisors retired bureaucrats who helped in corrupt practices and wrongdoings of ruling party leaders and state government.”

Terming these appointments “political nominations”, Prabhakar called the BRS government’s decision an affront to bureaucrats presently rendering services in the state.

He said that Chandrashekar Rao appointed 11 such bureaucrats as advisors during the past nine years and despite this decision, the state has fallen behind with no improvement in its performance.

The BJP leader also hit out at K.T. Rama Rao, calling him a ‘Twitter Master’ who is busy handling social media and leaving municipal administration in the lurch.

Raking up the TSPSC question paper leak, the leader reiterated the party’s demand for a probe by a sitting High Court judge. Saying that youth who had written the exams were affected mentally by the paper leak, he demanded that the government deposit Rs. 1 lakh in accounts of unemployed youth to mitigate their problems.
