Chennai: Baby's body found in box near crematorium

Police have sought the list of boy babies delivered in government and private hospitals in the city to trace the parents.

Chennai: Police on Friday recovered the body of a five-month-old baby wrapped in a cardboard box and dumped near the Krishnampet crematorium in Triplicane.
 
Police were alerted after locals informed the crematorium workers about dogs dragging the cardboard box and found that it had the body of a baby boy in it. Ice House police secured the body and moved it to the Government Royapettah Hospital for autopsy. Police have sought the list of boy babies delivered in government and private hospitals in the city to trace the parents.
