Shahi masjid to host iftar for kids
The programme is being initiated by Maulana Hafiz Dr Ahsan Bin Mohammed Al Hamoomi, imam of the mosque.
Hyderabad: At a time when the Muslim community is criticising the lavish ‘Dawaat-e-Iftaar’ held by political parties and social organisations during Ramzan and terming it “unIslamic”, the Shahi Masjid Bagh-e-Aam, is showing the way to generation next.
It will be hosting a Dawaat-e-Iftar for children at the mosque located at Public Garden on Sunday. The programme is being initiated by Maulana Hafiz Dr Ahsan Bin Mohammed Al Hamoomi, imam of the mosque.
“The ‘iftar’ time is when Allah accepts the prayers of the faithful and is considered the utmost important time during the fast. Nowadays, the iftar has become ‘dawat-e-Iftar and it is losing its importance and significance. We want to teach the kids the importance of iftar, its ethics and importance to ensure in future they do not go wrong and this extravaganza comes to a halt slowly,” said Dr Ahsan.
