Cops set to give Telangana High Court proof on Ravi Prakash
The ACP said Ravi Prakash had crucial documents in his possession which form part of the evidence but did not submit them.
Hyderabad: Having concluded the interrogation of the former chief executive officer of Associated Broadcasting Company (ABC) Pvt Ltd V. Ravi Prakash, the Cyberabad cyber crime police is all set to produce the evidence before the Telangana High Court on Monday.
The court directions will play a critical role in taking the investigation further. The police claimed Ravi Prakash did not cooperate during his interrogation and that the allegations filed against him were found to be true.
Cyberabad cyber crime ACP Ch Y. Srinivas Kumar told mediapersons that Ravi Prakash appeared for questioning on June 4, 5 and 6, as per the orders issued by the Supreme Court. He did not provide any information.
The ACP said Ravi Prakash had crucial documents in his possession which form part of the evidence but did not submit them.
“As part of our investigation, we have collected some evidence, including technical evidence and witness statements, all of which indicate that the allegations filed against Ravi Prakash and the other accused are true,” he said.
“Ravi Prakash needs to submit certain documents to prove himself innocent. We conducted searches, seized some electronic evidence, and questioned some witnesses after which, we've established the allegations against him to be true to a certain extent. The documents were found to be fabricated,” the ACP added.
“Ravi Prakash denied all accusations — including signing certain papers — while evidence indicates otherwise. Our investigation is presently on hold. We shall produce before the court all the evidence that we have collected so far, and ask the court for support with further investigation,” he said.
Two cases were registered against Ravi Prakash and his aides at the cyber crime police station of Cyberabad police commissionerate, following complaints filed by Mr P. Kaushik Rao, director of Alanda Media and Entertainments Pvt Ltd, alleging forgery, cheating, and conspiracy to prevent new directors from taking charge of the operations of ABCPL.
