Arakkal palace stuns Qatar royal

Sheikh Mahmoud Al Ananie visits Arakkal Palace Museum.

Kannur: Sheikh Mahmoud Al Ananie from the House of Thani- the ruling family of Qatar or the Qatar Palace—visited Arakkal Palace here on Friday. He was in the city as part of his research on the Muthavalli tradition of the Muslim family  prevalent only in Arakkal Palace in the state and also to learn  about the ancient trade link of Kerala with  the Arab countries,  especially Qatar.

Sheikh Mahmoud Al Ananie,  who is also  religious adviser of the Qatar family,  was for the first time visiting the centre and expressed his surprise over  the ancient documents and artefacts  preserved in Arakkal Palace. The officials of Arakkal Palace explained the importance of Muthavalli practice still followed in the palace.  

After meeting palace officials, he visited  Arakkal Palace museum, city Jama Masjid and Sayyid Muhammed Maula Maccam. He blessed museum manager and other officials,  including Abdul Majeed, K.P. Abdulsamad, E. Muhammed Rushdi and A.P. Yasar.
