Banjara Hills accident victim Ramya died in hospital
Ramya, who was injured in the accident, was admitted to NIMS and later shifted to Care Hospital where doctors put her on life support.
Hyderabad: Banjara Hills accident victim Ramya died in hospital on Saturday. Ramya, who was seriously injured in the accident, was on life support at Care Hospital. Doctors said that her condition worsened and brain stem reflexes were absent.
Ramya, who was injured in the accident, was admitted to NIMS and later shifted to Care Hospital where doctors put her on life support. P. Ramya, the eldest daughter of Venkatramana and Radhika did Class III at St Paul’s High School in Hyderguda. Her parents wanted to admit her in St Ann's. On July 1, they came to the school for admission.
Though admissions closed 15 days ago, the school management accepted her and the parents agreed to complete formalities on Saturday. As per their request she was allowed to sit in Class IV on that day.
On the first day at St Ann’s, her grandfather Madhusudan Rao, and uncles Rajesh and Ramesh came to pick her from school. While they were driving down the Punjagutta flyover, a car jumped the road divider and hit their vehicle. Engin-eering student Shraveel, who was driving the car was drunk. He lost control on the car.
Rajesh died on the spot and Ramya who was sitting in the back, fractured her pelvic bone. Ramya’s mother Radhika, grandfather Madhusudhan Rao and uncle Ramesh, travelling in the same car, also suffered serious injuries.
Shraveel’s five friends were also injured in the accident. Shraveel was arrested under for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and remanded to custody. Police said the autopsy on Ramya’s body will be held on Sunday.
