This is not the way to treat good officers: MK Ganapati to TV channels

Bengaluru: Here are the excerpts of the interview M.K. Ganapati gave to TV channels before he committed suicide.
Against Lokayukta IGP Mohanty
“When I was in Madiwala, Mohanty was IGP in the city. Subbanna was ACP and Harsha was the DCP. Subbanna and Harsha were demanding money from me and I told them I cannot do that. They complained against me to Mohanty.

He called me and asked, “What is your problem? Why can’t you pay Subbanna and Harsha?’ I told him that I am not adjusted to that system and I could never do it. It did not go well with him. He was demanding money from other officers. He made all efforts to remove me from Madiwala but did not succeed.”

“Ashit Mohan Prasad and Mohanty are very close. Mohanty was posted to Lokayukta by the government based on Prasad’s recommendation. He was brought to Lokayukta to adjust some cases. They have harassed me badly and have tried to collect information against me by sending officers from Lokayukta and Human Rights to places where I worked.”

Against ADGP A.M. Prasad
“He was IG when I was in Mangaluru. His son was studying in Udupi. Every Sunday he used to ask me to send a vehicle to pick his son from Udupi and bring him to Mangaluru. As I sent a department vehicle, he got angry and asked me to arrange private cars. I told him clearly that I could not such things for him. Since then, he started nursing a grudge against me. After becoming the ADG Intelligence, he gave all sorts of bad reports against me to George, who was Home Minister then. They tried to remove me from Rajagopalanagar station and harassed me.”

Against George
“George had no idea about me. But after becoming Home Minister he held a meeting with Christians and they told him that I troubled them a lot during church attacks in 2008. It is an old case and it’s already closed. George had this in mind and further Ashit Mohan Prasad gave negative reports against me. Then I was not given a posting in police stations and was transferred frequently.”

“I am healthy now. If something happens to me, I mean, if I am not there in future, these two persons, Ashit Mohan Prasad who is ADG Intelligence and Pronab Mohanty, who is IGP in Lokayukta, are responsible. Also, K J George, who was home minister earlier, he is also responsible. God only should teach them a lesson. Good officers should not be treated like this.”
