Eight nominated chairmen for corporations

Vijayawada: The State government has nominated chairmen for eight corporations that have drawn mixed reaction from the public. The posts at the Waqf board and the Urdu Academy were given to Jaleel Khan and M.D. Nowman drawing public reaction that the move was in view of Nandyal byelection. Kurnool TD president Somisetty Venateswarlu was nominated as Kurnool Urban Development Authority chairman.

The government filled some of the vacant nominated positions on Sunday. Defected MLA Jaleel Khan who aspired for a ministry was given Wakf board chairman. Mr Khan had made many controversial comments and had expressed his discontent over not being given a ministry as assured.

Another TD senior leader J.R. Pushpa Raj who is also discontented since long was nominated as Food Commission Chairman. Mr Pushpa Raj had lost an opportunity to become Rajya Sabha member recently at the last minute which was given to T.G. Venkatesh.

Ex-MLA Ambika Krishna is nominated as AP TV and Cinema development board chairman and Mr Ericson Babu is nominated as LIDCAP chairman. Mr Narasimha Yadav is nominated as Tirupati Urban Development Authority Chairman.
