Petrol and diesel prices were deregulated or freed from government control from April 1, 2002.

Hyderabad: The TS Petroleum Dealers Association on Sunday deferred its ‘no purchase, no sale’ of fuel on July 12 in view of the ongoing Bonalu festivities. The agitation was called by the All India Petroleum Dealers Association to protest the daily revision of fuel prices.

“Keeping in view the Bonalu festival in Telangana state, our association has decided to defer the agitation call given by AIPDA,” said Mr Rajiv Amaram, president, TPDA.

He said the petrol pumps in the state had observed ‘no purchase’ agitation on July 5 and dealers feel that it was not correct to go on strike again within a week.
