Supreme Court cancels judge's bail plea, asks him to give up
The top court has ordered the accused to surrender by July 10.
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court has cancelled the interim bail application of labour court judge M. Gandhi, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in March this year under a disproportionate assets case. The top court has ordered the accused to surrender by July 10. On March 17, the ACB had booked the disproportionate assets case on Gandhi, presiding officer (judicial officer) Labour Court-1. Nampally.
The sleuths unearthed properties worthRs 3.57 crore which they said was more than could be acquired with his legitimate income. The case against Gandhi surfaced when the High Court received a complaint against him. The court directed the ACB to verify the allegations.
Following an investigation, the ACB submitted a fact-finding report to the court stating that it had found the allegation against the judicial officer to be true. The High Court granted permission to the ACB to take action. Based on the direction, the raids were conducted on March 17.
