Hyderabad: As Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being tried and tested in different sectors successfully, it has now hit the media industry too.
Odisha's OTV has for the first time introduced an AI news anchor. In this viral video, the AI news anchor can be seen introducing herself as 'Lisa'. The news anchor can be seen clearly reading out the news in Odia. She also tells about OTV's achievements in the broadcast and digital world and explains about OTV's foray into AI news sector and its upcoming news bulletins.
OTV’s AI news anchor Lisa has the capability to speak in multiple languages. She will seamlessly present news in Odia apart from English for OTV and its digital platforms.#AIAnchorLisa #Lisa #Odisha #OTVNews #OTVAnchorLisa pic.twitter.com/8Q0t3m6NEE

"Now, giving birth to me and by instating me into the TV and digital world, OTV has marked the beginning of a historic moment not only in Odisha, but for all the regional television broadcast mediums across the country. Please tune in for upcoming segments where I will be hosting latest news updates coming in from Odisha, India and around the world", says the AI news anchor.
The video gets some mixed reactions from the people as some congratulate for the new beginnings and few say the AI will take away the news anchors jobs.
"Training #Lisa in Odia was a huge task, which we could achieve. However, we are still working on it. We are hoping to get her trained to the level in which she could interact with others easily: #OTV Digital Business Head, Litisha Mangat Panda, (sic).", OTV tweets.
