Double blow for Eamcet rankers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Telanga Eamcet results were declared on July 13 and around the same time, the certificates' verification was going on in AP.
Hyderabad: In a major disappointment, Telangana students who had scored ranks in the medical entrance tests conducted in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, are now left with no seats in either of the states. Anticipating seats in colleges in Telangana, these students had skipped certificates’ verification in AP.
But after the unexpected cancellation of the TS Eamcet-2, students and parents resorted to using AP Eamcet ranks to secure seats. But AP authorities said it was too late for them to accommodate the students from TS. This is despite TS’ attempts to get AP to accommodate its students.
TS Eamcet results were declared on July 13 and around the same time, the certificates’ verification was going on in AP. A girl from Nalgonda, who had secured 34th rank in TS Eamcet-2 and 168 rank in AP Eamcet is now without a seat in either of the states.
“After the Eamcet-2 cancellation, we had hoped to attend counseling in AP but that was not allowed,” K. Ramesh, the girl’s uncle explained.
Another girl had secured 344th rank in TS Eamcet-2 and 503rd rank in AP Eamcet. Her mother Shakuntala said her daughter was now in a state of depression because both her ranks had gone waste.
TS officials maintain that AP could’ve conducted extra counseling, at least on humanitarian grounds.
