Bengaluru: Condolences pour in for a dengue victim'

The authorities, however, are yet to confirm the cause of death.

With stagnant water becoming breeding ground for mosquitoes, dengue continues to tighten its grip.

Bengaluru: Condolences poured in on Facebook for young Sushmitha Aradhya, who well-wishers believe succumbed to dengue on August 7 at a city hospital. One of her family members said that she was from Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru and was pursuing engineering at MS Ramaiah College. The authorities, however, are yet to confirm the cause of death. 

“We are yet to get any confirmation on the reason for her death. Hospitals are required to notify our cell of any dengue deaths. So far, we have no information," said Mr Lokesh M.N., Chief Health Officer (Public Health),  BBMP. So far, the BBMP has reported 2,443 confirmed cases of dengue since January 1 this year, but no deaths.
