Taste a Bite of France' in Pondicherry
Unique Indo-French food festival from Aug. 11.
Puducherry: Those who really want to relish a gourmet French meal, can certainly save the date for your next savour – August 11 to 13 at Puducherry.
Puducherry tourism department is hospting ‘Bite of France’, a unique and innovative Indo-French Food Festival where you can taste ‘authentic’ French food.
Bite of France is an initiative of by Tablo Noir, a design and identity studio in Chennai, in association with Puducherry Tourism, which is backed by many sponsors.
The three-day festival will be held at Sinniya Garden, located at the end of the beach promenade. It will be decorated and set up in a French style and will have stalls of French, Indo-French, Vietnamese and Creole food.
The organisers are looking forward for 7,500-10,000 people to visit these stalls, which will be serving foods showcasing a fusion of French and Indian cuisine.
According to the organisers, the event will be a continuation of the French National Day celebration, locally known as ‘La Fête Nationale and is aimed to bring out the look and feel of France in Puducherry.
Apart from food stalls, the festival offers a wide variety of cultural events including games, art, fashion, music and and dance everything in French fashion.
Performance by ‘Tambours Sacres’ a professional music, dance and culture team based in Reunion Islands, France just would be one of the main attractions of the event’.
The band of 11 International artists will showcase something extraordinary mixing French and Indian culture together through music and dance, the organisers said.
Puducherry, which draws thousands of tourists every weekend, expects more tourists this weekend as the schedule for the festival coincides with the holiday season in France.
