Hyderabad: The CBI court at Hyderabad, which is designated as the special court for ED cases, on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Nimmagadda Prasad in the Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal investments case.

The court had earlier directed him to appear for every hearing. As Prasad was arrested by the Serbian police about 10 days ago, he could not attend the court and failed to file a memo before the court seeking exemption.

On Friday, the court asked Prasad’s counsel why a memo was not filed when others including Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSRC MP V. Vijaysai Reddy, and others had done so.

The other accused, Indu Shyam Prasad Reddy, appeared before the court. Prasad’s counsel said the ED was informed about Prasad’s arrest in Serbia. He was not asked by Prasad to file a petition before the court, he said.  Following this, the court issued a NBW against Prasad.
