AP expressed its intent to share details of irrigation projects having no objections and sought some time to do so with the officials
Vijayawada: The state government has sought certain changes in the gazette notification, especially those dealing with Schedules 1,2 and 3 at Krishna and Godavari River Management Boards joint meeting of coordination committees held in Hyderabad on Monday.
AP irrigation secretary J. Syamala Rao said that they had discussed several issues mentioned in the gazette notification issued by the Union ministry of Jal Sakthi recently in addition to appointment of officials to the boards and facilities to be provided. He said that they had reiterated their demand to make changes in the notification on issues dealing with some irrigation projects and added that they had extended all support for implementation of the notification schedule coming into force on October 14.
AP expressed its intent to share details of irrigation projects having no objections and sought some time to do so with the officials from the boards.
The boards’ officials informed AP officials that they were supposed to give information sought by them in a stipulated time and said that they were discussing with the Centre on deploying CISF personnel at the irrigation projects.
Meanwhile, water resources officials from Telangana skipped the joint meeting for the second time stating that their officials were supposed to attend court cases on the same day.
As per the gazette notification, both AP and TS governments are supposed to pay Rs.200 crore each for functioning of the boards and officials from both the states are also to get approvals for all unapproved and new irrigation projects within six months by submitting detailed project reports to the boards.
