Karnataka: Girish Karnad, 24 other writers get security

It is learnt that the state police have decided to provide security to around 25 writers and progressive thinkers.

Bengaluru: Following the murder of eminent journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, it is learnt that the state police have decided to provide security to around 25 writers and progressive thinkers.

It is said that the police department reviewed threat perception to various writers across the state and decided to provide them provide protection. The decision was taken after analysing the statements made by progressive thinkers, controversy surrounding it and requisition for security by some of them.

Girish Karnad,  Baragur Ramachandrappa. K.S. Bhagwan, Yogesh Master, Chandrashekhar Patil and  Patil Putappa, Chennaveera Kanavi have been provided security.
