KT Rama Rao accepts Skoch award

KT Rama Rao said that Telangana would become the first state where government was extending broadband services to all houses.

Hyderabad: K.T. Rama Rao, IT minister, has stated that his government is taking steps to ensure drinking water and broadband services in different parts of the state in six months. He said that Telangana would become the first state where government was extending broadband services to all houses. 

He was speaking after accepting the Skoch Award for the best IT minister in the country at a programme held in New Delhi on Saturday. Mr.Rao later inagurated an exhibition set up by the IT department. KTR also called on defence minister Nirmala Seetharaman and textiles minister Smriti Irani. He requested Ms Irani to allot Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) to TS. He requested the Union minister to allot a handloom park in Gadwal.

Mr Rao urged the new defence minister Nirmala Seetharaman to extend assistance to Telangana in the aerospace and defence sectors.
