Nine-day festivities conclude peacefully in Warangal, Karimnagar
The large-sized Ganesh idols were immersed at Chinna Waddepally, Ursu cheruvu, Kota Cheruvu, and Bandam Cheruvu
WARANGAL/KARIMNAGAR: With elaborate arrangements made by the district administrations of erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts along with providing tight security by the officials of the police department, the Shoba yatra and the procession of Ganesh idol immersion held on a smooth and peaceful note here in Warangal and Karimnagar districts without any untoward incidents.
In the tri-cities of Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Kazipet, present under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, the officials identified 15 immersion points along with placing huge cranes and deploying three thousand police personnel as part of security arrangements, along with installing CCTV cameras.
Panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, government chief whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, and city mayor Gundu Sudharani, along with the district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, inspected the procession of immersion of Ganesh idols at Siddeshwara Swamy gundam in Hanamkonda.
The large-sized Ganesh idols were immersed at Chinna Waddepally, Ursu cheruvu, Kota Cheruvu, and Bandam Cheruvu, and the Ganesh idols, which were around four feet, were immersed at Siddeshwara Swamy and Padmakshi gundams, while the small-sized Ganesh idols were immersed at various other places.
In Karimnagar city, three immersion points were established by the officials at Manakondur Cheruvu, Chintakunta Canal, and Kothapally Cheruvu, along with placing nine cranes at three immersion points for the immersion of around 900 Ganesh idols.
The officials made arrangements for the immersion of huge Ganesh idols at Manakondur Cheruvu and for medium and small-sized Ganesh idols at Chintakunta Canal and Kothapally Cheruvu immersion points.
Welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar, along with city mayor Y. Sunil Rao, inaugurated the Shoba Yatra and inspected the immersion process at Manakondur immersion point.
In the Peddapalli district, the immersion point was established at Godavari bridge along with three cranes. Arrangements were made for the immersion of around 2,000 Ganesh idols by establishing about 20 platforms.
The officials of the police departments of the erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts made tight security arrangements along with deploying experts in swimming at each immersion point to prevent any untoward incidents.
Along with deploying hundreds of police personnel on duty, the officials also placed barricades surrounding the immersion points, keeping in view of full water levels due to recent heavy rains which have been witnessed in both the districts.
The Shoba yatra was colorful, with Band Baaja from neighbouring Maharashtra invited, as well as preference given to local artists performing Oggu art form and Kolatam.
The organisers of the Ganesh pandals and local youth, along with children, gave a grand send off to the Lord Ganesh by taking out a procession with dancing and singing, along with seeking good health and prosperity.
