ADILABAD: The BJP and its top leadership are ‘over the Moon’ with the successful launch and landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon followed by the launch of Aditya L1 to closely observe the Sun from the high skies.

The party that has mostly failed to catch the fancy of the people in the southern states, including in AP, is currently planning a campaign to gain political mileage from the success of these Space missions, in the run-up to the assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

Party leaders say what they seek to promote is patriotism among the people, especially the youth. The party notes that there was considerable enthusiasm among the students and youths about the success of these space missions. They also note the BJP-led government at the Centre gave good support to ISRO to take up these missions.

The BJP has asked its leaders to ensure that resolutions are passed at Grampanchayats, municipalities and mandal parishads, praising Prime Minister Modi and the scientists. These resolutions would be sent to the state party. BJP would also put up cutouts of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1 at prominent places.

BJP leaders would explain to the people how the country progressed in science and technology under the leadership of Modi and also about the digital and Make in India  initiatives.

Senior BJP leader Suhasini Reddy of Adilabad said they were asked at a recent leaders’ meeting to ensure that the resolutions are passed with the help of BJP Sarpanches, MPTCs and ward members in the local bodies in September and October.
