Hyderabad: Registration for heritage quiz starts

The qualifying teams from the first round will take part in an on-stage competition which will have audio, visual and verbal questions.

Hyderabad: The CBSE is all set to conduct its Annual Heritage India Quiz. The quiz was initiated in 2001 by the CBSE to encourage students to learn about the history, culture and tourism in India. 

The quiz will be conducted in three phases. First phase will be on a city level. Schools have been asked to register a team of three students from High schools. Schools will be competing for two rounds. First round is a written qualifier round where the participating teams will have to answer questions given in a powerpoint. The qualifying teams from the first round will take part in an on-stage competition which will have audio, visual and verbal questions. 

Schools in the city are already gearing up for the quiz. Anitha Suresh, a teacher says, “We select students after conducting a few qualifying rounds. It is quite a prestigious competition as the final found is conducted on a national level.” The winning team will also get a whopping amount of Rs 21,000 and certificates. Schools from Hyderabad are yet to win this honour.
