Floral festival kicks off: The nine-day festival
The department of culture has organised a series of cultural activities for the next nine days.
Hyderabad: The Bathukamma festival has kick started in Telangana on Tuesday and the celebrations will continue till October 17.
The nine-day festival begins with Engili Pula Bathukamma on the first and ends with Saddula Bathukamma on the ninth day.

Bangiya celebrations
The Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha, Secunderabad, one of the largest Bengalee Association in south India, will be celebrating Durga puja at Keys High School in Secunderabad from October 11 to 19. Ms Kasturi Chatterjee, a Bengali, said, “Hyderabad is a house to a sizable Bengalis. Special pujas will be held on Shastami, Saptami and Ashtami. Bengalis believe that on the 10th day, Maa Durga will descend from heaven along with her children.”
