Hyderabad: In the wake of the TSRTC strike, all kinds of existing passes have been made valid for private buses, said transport minister P. Ajay Kumar.

The minister, on the day 5 of the strike, held a marathon meeting. He has warned strict action against private operators found charging high ticket prices, banking on the after-festival rush amid the ongoing strike.

As part of the alternative measures taken for smooth travel of passengers, the minister has directed the RTC to ensure that there are sufficient number of buses plying on the roads. The employees on-duty must work following the same schedule they had prior to the strike, the minister said.

“It has been brought to our notice that a few buses were not allowing traditional bus pass holders. In the awake of the strike, all bus passes must be made valid whether it is a government or a private pass,” the transport minister said.

The minister has also asked the railway officials and HMRL to increase the frequency of the MMTS and metro.
