Hyderabad: Hayat Bakshi Begum, one of the most influential women rulers of Medieval Deccan from the Qutb Shahi dynasty is the subject of an oral narrative by the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) as a virtual reality experience.
The story of Hayat Bakshi Begum is one of women's empowerment and the trailer tiled ‘Ma Saheba-The queen of Hyderabad’ will be showcased in a 360-degree VR animation on October 11 and 12 at the Hyderabad Design Week.
Technological expertise has been used to bring out the exploratory landscape and the experience of the Qutb Shahi monuments.
Prof Deepak John Mathew, Head, Department of Design, IIT Hyderabad, said, “This project is initiated with the support of Design Innovation Centre at IIT-H. The objective is to create a visual model of the monuments in India. This is the first attempt in this series.”
With this technology, viewers will get to visit the tombs without being physically present there. To create this a high resolution scan of the tomb complex was done using the VR headset at the airport.
