Fact Check: Nobel Laureate and Indian Economist Amartya Sen Death News Fake
Indian economist and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen has died, a tweet posted by a parody account of recent Economic Nobel Prize winner Claudia Goldin had stated.
The post on X read, "A terrible news. My dearest Professor Amartya Sen has died minutes ago. No words."

However, it has emerged that the account is a fake account and the news is untrue.
Life
Born in Shantiniketan, West Bengal on November 3, 1933 Amartya Sen's contribution to economics won him Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998.
Education
Amartya Sen received his education from Trinity College, Calcutta University, Harvard University and Cambridge.
Sen has taught at several well known institutions across the globe including London School of Economics, Harvard, Oxford and Delhi School of Economics.
Besides Economics, Amartya Sen has also contributed in the areas of ethics and political philosophy.
Awards
Amartya Sen is a recipient of India's highest civilian award—Bharat Ratna and National Humanities Medal awarded by the US President.
