Thiruvananthapuram: CPM awaits ruling on Sabari pleas
Ongoing campaign will be intensified.
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM will wait for the outcome of review petition filed before Supreme Court by different parties in connection with the Sabarimala verdict before finalising the strategy for next level.
The Supreme Court is scheduled to take up the review petition on November 13. However, the party will continue LDF’s current campaign across the state. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will speak at public meetings in the remaining districts.
The secretariat is pleased with the mass mobilisation at LDF meetings where people are not only listening patiently to the chief minister but also responding enthusiastically whenever he invoked the renaissance movement and the contribution of social reformers Sree Narayana Guru, Chattambi Swamy and Ayyankali.
The party claims that a sizeable section of people do not approve of the violence unleashed by Sangh Parivar outfits in Sabarimala and adjoining areas. Hence, the campaign against the attempts to take over Sabarimala needed to be countered effectively.
With the BJP and Congress running parallel rath yathras on Sabarimala, the party does not rule out the possibility of people getting misled by their propaganda. It is in this context that the party has decided to conduct padyatras in 140 Assembly segments which will be led by prominent leaders.
The secretariat felt that the temple entry proclamation being one of the achievements of renaissance movement in the state, needs to be propagated widely among the people in the present scenario.
Renaissance get-together will be held in all villages. These get-togethers will be attended by cultural leaders, library activists and important personalities of the area and members of mass organisations.
