HC summons tahsildar, revenue inspector for issuing fake domicile certificate
Hyderabad: The division bench of Telangana High Court, comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice N.V. Sravan Kumar, directed the Alampur revenue inspector and tahsildar to appear before the court on December 4 for having issued a false residential certificate (local candidate certificate) to a BDS aspirant, even though she had completed her entire studies from class I to Intermediate in Andhra Pradesh.
R. Manjula, tahsildar of Alampur mandal, appeared before the court on Friday and informed that she had issued the residential certificate based on the report sent by the revenue inspector. On October 31, the Chief Justice had issued a bailable warrant against the tahsildar for not appearing on the previous date of hearing.
Chief Justice Aradhe expressed deep concern over the lethargic attitude of the officials while performing official duties. The false certificate showed that the candidate Singotam Vennela was residing at door no. 23-43, Alampur, for the last 18 years while the petitioner had herself contended that she had pursued her studies in Kurnool district.
