Looting by YSR left Rayalaseema drought-prone
TGV says Jagan should undergo training under the CM.
KURNOOL: Rebutting the accusations of YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on drought in Rayalaseema, Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy on Tuesday said that it was the result of plundering natural resources in the region by the former’s father, former chief minister Late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Speaking to reporters, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Jagan Mohan Reddy has been spreading canards against the ruling TD over water and irrigation projects. “Such accusations cannot hold much water. The truth is that former Chief Minister Late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy squandered the resources of the government by giving mobilisation advances to contractors who did not take up projects. Instead, all of them thrived in Bengaluru by taking up real estate projects”, he said.
He also said that mindset of Jagan is myopic and he is seeing things through such a lens which shows issues far from truth. He faulted Jagan’s Rythu Bharosa Yatra which has been going on for the last six days and said that at least now, when the Krishna water is being released to Pulivendula through Pydipalle reservoir, he must see the reality and join the development process.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh suggested that Jagan Mohan Reddy should take training under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to become a responsible leader.
He said there will be no use if one cribs against everything in their life. “You will be branded a dissenter,” he said and added instead, he look at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who worked under Mr Naidu. He is ruling the Telangana state efficiently now and it is due to the training imparted by Mr Naidu, he said.
Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy said it is high time, Jagan sees reality and starts playing a constructive role in the state politics. Otherwise he would be taught a costly lesson by the people, he said. The TD leaders said the Opposition leader was not being constructive in his criticism but only slamming the ruling party just for the sake of being in the opposition. They said he needs to learn a lot from the seniors in the political field.
