KT Rama Rao seeks NIMZ tag for Hyderabad's pharma hub

Following bifurcation, the mega leather park has been allocated to AP and Mr Rao sought a similar establishment in the sttate.

Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday alleged that the Opposition parties were playing Shikandi politics' with the help of a retired professor (TJAC Kodandaram) as they were unable to face the TRS directly.

Hyderabad: Industries and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday asked the Centre for National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) status for Hyderabad Pharma City. He also requested Rs 1,500 crore for setting up a comm-on effluent treatment plant at Pharma City. 

During a meeting with Union commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu, Mr Rao urged the Centre to release Rs 20 crore towards Nizamabad Spice Park.

Mr Rao said, “We appealed to the Centre to allocate funds for the Hyderabad-Warangal, Hyderabad-Ramagundam and Hyderabad-Bengaluru industrial corridors.”

Mr Rao said the government had invited Mr Prabhu to participate in the Bio-Asia Conference to be held in Hyderabad on February 22 and 23.
