Manickam Tagore outlines promises during visit to Vijayawada
Vijayawada: State Congress incharge and Virudhanagar MP, Manickam Tagore, has reiterated that the Congress party will fulfill its promises of granting the Special Category Status for AP, providing a special package for the backward districts in Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema and completion of the Polavaram project.
Also, he said, the Congress would fulfill all the assurances made by the party during the state bifurcation.
After appointing party affairs in charge, for the first time, Manickam Tagore visited Vijayawada on Wednesday.
APCC president and former MLC Gidugu Rudra Raju and other party leaders welcomed Tagore at the Gannavaram airport. Later, they held a procession from the airport port to Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada.
During the first visit of Tagore to Vijayawada, two former MLAs-- P David Raju from the Prakasam district and DY Das from the Krishna district -- joined the party at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan.
Later, Manickam Tagore participated in the APCC executive committee meeting.
Subsequently, he interacted with leaders of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI and Seva Dal and released the poster of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
He said YSRC MPs were working as ‘Cheer Girls’ supporting BJP’s “anti- democratic” policies.
