Telangana IT minister KTR drafting plan for development
Mission Action 100 Plan to set future target.
Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao, who assumed office as minister for municipal administration and urban development on Wednesday, said he would come out with a “Mission 100 Action Plan” in 15 days.
He said the action plan would have specific targets to be met in 100 days for development of GHMC limits and to make GHMC ‘corruption-free’ while granting various approvals like building permissions.
In the recent GHMC polls, Mr Rao had successfully executed the “Mission 100 seats” for TRS. The new minister mooted three types of action plans for Hyderabad’s development.
Mr Rao on Wednes-day held a marathon meeting for over nine hours at Buddha Bhavan with city officials from GHMC, HMDA, Hyderabad Metro Rail, Water Board among others to devise plans for development of the city.
He asked officials to prepare a 100-day, a three-year and a five-year action plan to meet short, medium and long-term goals.
It was also decided to set up 150 WhatsApp groups for each of the 150 municipal divisions with people and officials concerned being involved. It would work for speedy resolution of civic issues in each division.
“We will introduce online approval system in GHMC within 100 days to check corruption. There will be no interface between people and officials. The entire process, from applications to approvals, will be online to ensure transparency and to check corruption,” Mr Rao said after the meeting.
He added that building approvals would be given within 30 days from the date of application and officials concerned would be penalised for delays after the deadline without valid reasons.
Thanking people for electing the TRS to power in the GHMC elections with a historic majority, Mr Rao promised: “We will make sure that people in the city see a marked difference in 100 days with regard to roads, drainage etc. We will come out with an action plan about the targets to meet in 100 days.”
