Hyderabad: Two girls from a college in Narayanaguda were reported missing in two different incidents on Thursday and Friday. The girls, identified as Mokide Divya, 20, and Chamanthi, 18, of Sangareddy in Medak, were of students of BSc stream at Reddy College in Narayanguda.

Chamanthi was a first-year student and lived in the college hostel, police said.

Divya was a final year student of the same college, residing at Vikrampuri colony in Karkhana. “According to her parents, she was close with a boy from her hometown Sangareddy, and they opposed their friendship. After they took away her mobile phone to prevent her from talking to him, she was upset and was later reported missing,” said Narayanguda sub-inspector, B. Raju.

Divya, who had been missing since Friday night, is suspected to be in Khammam with her boyfriend Sai. “After we received complaint from her father, an investigation was started and during the interrogation of friends, it was found that one Sai had taken her to Khammam with him,” said the official.

A search team had been sent to Khammam. Efforts are on to locate Chamanthi.
